Workout routine?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
So, since the new year i've tried to get my act together in terms of getting off my ass and getting more in shape. I'm not overweight so I'm not really looking for massive weight loss but I'm guessing you have to lose some weight in order to tone up?

Up until the last week or so my working out has been very unorganised and there was no real structure to it.

My brother gave me an exercise bike he never used and i've been using that every other day doing about 15km each time and then alternating the days between doing weights and push ups and sit ups etc.

What I'm trying to get from this post is, does anyone have a particular routine they do that works or are there any good sites that can offer a good programme to follow?

    Check out bodybuilding.com

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/workout.htm <-- It even says it is fun, horray! ;)

    You can use some of the routines they give as a starting point to how to put one together. Then have a look through their exercises section http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/ to find ones you like and are suited to what you have available.

    Once you click in, you can narrow your search by body part, equipment needed or what type of exercise... if you don't have much equipment or access to a gym, check out the cardio and plyo exercises listed.

    It might take a bit of work, but I'm sure you can come up with a kick ass routine that will work with your interests and what you have available to work with :)

    Thanks for that :)

    I tried that place - jeez, there is a ridiculous amount of information on there. Too much! I posted in the forum and recieved a rather half arsed, unhelpful reply! Ha.

    I'll have a poke about. Thanks ::)
