Cheap SatNav

Okay so at present I borrow a family members sat nav but it's the Navman F20 and unlocking it to update the maps free is hard as they're not windows CE core.

So can anyone suggest a cheap Satnav where it is easy to unlock (thus not illegal) or has recent maps on it.

I'd go tomtom but do not fancy paying a couple of hundred for something I'll use rarely.

    You have checked you don't have the kind of phone that does it?

    Well I got one of the TomTom ones that are usually around £89-£99 and it does me and I think it is top notch tbh. I don't know if it is easy to unlock, but my dad uses one of the cheaper end Garmin's and they seem to suit him fine.

    My phone does do satnav but I use it for otherthings while driving.

    Depending on what else you use it for, might be easier to get a cheap swap for that and use the phone for Sat Nav.

    I would like to get a navman f20
    for a friend, can you recommend me places to buy it?
    I've found this, but I'm not convinced,

    I dont like it, I use my parents but find its horrible, imo

    If you buy certain Nokia Phones you get OVI Maps with free maps of the entire world available for download and it's all legit!!

    ALSO because it's a phone you get free Traffic updates every 5 minutes - I tested it out today on my Nokia on a 150 mile journey and the traffic reports were pretty good.
