Is it wrong to read other people's emails?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
As I was putting together a computer from old parts, I found a hard
drive that someone didn't erase. It was full of some guys emails. I
felt a bit wrong reading them but then I thought they are truthful, romantic and touching and I find them quite funny. It's a real love story unfolding before your eyes.

They are from 1999 and there are pretty amazing. I became addicted to
reading these and I thought I should share them.

Do you think it is wrong to publish these emails online, even though
how old they are? I have changed the people's names and that's all. Please
give a few emails a read before you respond.

Well, everything is fair game if you did it for the lolz.

Just in general: It is pretty rude to read other people's private stuff without consent.

I think you should twig it around a little bit so it doesn't sound exactly like it and then you coould publish it or you could always ask them very nicely if you can. And itnrude to read people e-maail's don't do it again x

How would you like it if I read your emails?
What would you do if I uploaded them to the internet?

    You're in breach of copyright.

You're possibly breaking the data protection act.

You didn't need to link to it to ask the question, so you're most likely just a spammer, and this is most likely stuff you've written.

My emails wouldn't leave my possession in a readable format. If people are foolish enough to toss out their old hard drives, complete with data, then more fool them.

However... this doesn't make it right for someone to post them up for the whole world to see. That's deliberate, whereas the person slinging out old, uncleaned data, is likely just a bit thick.

Yea, its not really right to read them. Then, I just started to, on your blog.
Good job it was Harmless information, or they would be in a spot of bother.
I would probably be nosey enough to read em,but not publish them.
