Calling photographers and filmmakers

Here's some info about a project we thought some of you might like to get involved in:

The National Youth Theatre is about to embark on its most ambitious project yet and we need high-flying young visual creatives to capture all the action.

We need five photographers and a group of twenty: filmmakers, producers and editors to make a film documenting S’warm – an environmentally-charged street performance bringing together 500 NYT performers in a mind-blowing fusion of dance and theatre.

Inspired by the decline in bee populations worldwide and the potentially devastating effect this could have on our planet, S’warm will culminate in a huge, week-long event in London at some of the capital’s most famous landmarks.

The winners of this DigiS’warm brief will work with professional film and photography mentors to produce a film that will be screened in Canada Square to an audience of 1,500 – plus many more online. The final film and photography products will also be exhibited at the House of Lords and used in National Youth Theatre press and publicity material.

You’ll get the chance to pack your showreel or portfolio with shots of these stunning locations, including top secret weird and wonderful industrial wastelands invaded by 500 swarmers.

If you’re a photographer or filmmaker between 16 and 25 years of age and you want to “bee” part of it (sorry, we couldn’t resist), then visit www.ideastap.com for details on how to apply or click here http://bit.ly/9bSOJc .

Deadline for entries is 26 July. Participants should be available from Sunday 15 – Sunday 22 August 2010. This is an unpaid role, but winners will receive money for lunch and travel in addition to professional mentoring.
