Hi,
Was just thinking today as I changed my homepage from the Firefox start page to www.google.co.uk that everyone has Google as there homepage. I want to use a different homepage with something better to look at but I can't think of what website to use (cos I'm really clever me :yeees: ). What homepage do you use? Something other than Google?

This is what it has been since 2002. I used to visit it a lot, nowadays not so much. I keep it so I can remember the poll.
HM Revenue & Customs at work.
It goes tumblr, youtube, twitter, facebook, BBC radio1, T in the park.
Seriously? Respect if that's true. I was using Google in year 2000, slightly before it hit the big time, but it wasn't my main search engine. It was around about July 2001 when I read an article on "Do you Google?" (play-on-words of do you Yahoo?), when Google hit the big time and thankfully surpassed Yahoo as the king of search engines. I was never a fan of Yahoo. I was a keen user of Infoseek, Profusion and Dogpile, then Google finally converted me around 2005. Granted, Google is awesome with lots of options, but at the same time, it is sad that most people nowadays aren't aware of other search engines.
Is it just me, or others too? When I click that link, it logs me out of these boards.
Cheers Indrid. It must be that then, coz I'm always using .org.uk in my Firefox Speed Dial. Perhaps there was a domain change somewhere in my 8 years here :-)
It's like Google, but it's black so uses less energy to power it. I used to have Givoogle, which donated money to cancer research with every search, but then that got shut down
1. Log into your iGoogle and change the background colour to black. (I have mine set to dark blue)
2. Go into your browser settings and force a black background to override all (or certain) web sites.
3. Install 'Stylish' and use the black user style for Google.
Plus, the black vs white isn't such an issue with TFT screens. It was more of an issue back in the dinosaur days of CRTs :-)
Ha, I didn't know about that one
Aye, back in late 1999. Showing my age now...
The olden days. Overclocking my K6/2-400 to 550mhz, my Celeron 300a up to over 500mhz... back when I was a proper geek. Hanging around on geeky-forums, living, working and breathing computers... Google was great. It was faster, more accurate, and more tweakable than anything else at the time.
It was Yahoo! mostly before that.
I've just never bothered to change it.
