Pain when walking.

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Ok so whenever I run or walk long distances I get horrible pains in my shins.
Sometimes it hurts to the point I need to stop for a few minutes and feels like someone is sticking needles through my skin from underneath.
I never used to get this and it has only started really in the last 2 years or so.
My Dr dismissed it and it has never really been treated.

Anyone any ideas what it might be?
I also seem to walk heavily on the balls of my feet as my sock always wear there first.
I am suspicious of fallen arches but they dont look all that flat when i look in the mirror but certainly not as arched as I would expect.

There's some insoles you can put in your shoes that might help http://www.idealworld.tv/WalkFit_Platinum_159626.aspx?fh_location=//idealworld/en_GB/$s=insoles
You can probably get them from other places too.

    Hi Mylo:wave: ,

Sorry to hear that you are having this painful problem at the moment, It may be worth going back to your G.P and just explaining that you are still experiencing the problems you spoke to him about before and ask him to check it out for you.

I hope that you are feeling better soon and let us know how you get on!!

    Take care
    B:)
