Ipod touch charging and Sync problem

Hi,

Many times when i plug my ipod touch with my computer and sync it, it takes hell of time and in the mean time battery get fully charged, but sync is not complete (mostly the backup takes hell of time). Should i unplug it when it is fully charged but not sync properly? or just leave it complete its sync job? I wonder if i just leave it to sync it will effect the battery life of ipod touch?

Any idea/experience how to deal with this?

    Make sure that the port you're using is USB 2.0, not 1.1. What you have described sounds like USB 1.1 to me because it can't deliver as much voltage and throughput as USB 2.0 can.
