What makes you so sure you love him rather than just being infatuated with each other? It seems like a lot to throw away if you aren't sure.

Walk away from both of them. No good friend would ever do that to their friend.

Stick with your boyfriend 3 years vs a feeling that could be temporary? think about it

Is this perhaps a touch of the Grass is always greener on the other side?

I'm going through something similar and it's horrible. I didn't know him very well before New Year's Eve but then we stayed up until 5am talking and I really liked him. I don't know what I'm gonna do but I think you should follow your heart. If you know you love your boyfriend, stay with him, if not, break up with him. If you are gonna go to his mate, talk it through with him after a while, not straight away and check he's okay with it.
    Good luck xx

Your boyfriend needs to get shot of his 'best mate'.

    Exactly.

Do you really want to be with someone who can treat his own best friend so badly? I feel sorry for your boyfriend, its the ultimate betrayal in my opinion.

Blame me for being the eternal pessemist, but are you really in love, it might feel like it, but for someone who is your bf's best friend, are you sure it might not be just a bit of infactuation/lust.

People do fall in love at first sight i think, but my opinion is that they only realise that, after things have become solid and they look back on their lives.

Either your boyfriend needs to get rid of his "mate" or you need to steer well clear if you want them to stay friends.

Nothing good will come of it.
