itchy finger tip

Since last night the tip of my ring finger has been itchy. There's like a very faint little bit of red (about a few millimetres big) but other than that it's fine.
I've been putting Germalene on but it hadn't worked. I've washed my hands too just incase i had something on the finger that was irritating it.
Any idea what I can do to get rid of the itch?

    No I haven't but that page mentions Calamine lotion and I didn't think to use that so I'll try that.

    It's on my left hand which I don't use on the mouse. I do type with my left hand but never with that finger.
