Shampoo for spotty scalp

I thought this was a Health thing, rather than an Appearance thing..
My boyfriend has his head shaved to a grade one around the sides (comes from years in the RAF!). He has to wear a safety hat for work (the plastic building site type) with the plastic straps inside. Where these straps touch the back and sides of his head, he's getting hot and sweaty and it's resulting in spots on his scalp.
He's been trying Original Source Tea Tree and Mint shampoo for a while but it doesn't seem to have made much difference. I suppose that's more cosmetic than medicated.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a shampoo he could try using?
