Hypnotherapy

Has anyone ever had hypnotherapy to deal with confidence issues? Does it work? Am I going to come out thinking I'm a chicken? A confident chicken, but a chicken all the same?
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

Hypnotherapy is not the same as Hypnotism - they don't 'hypnotise' you like Paul McKenna. It's competely different.

I had hypnotherapy for social anxiety and it was a mix of deep relaxation and CBT. I had to sit in a comfy chair and listen to his voice, he'd speak to me whilst I was in a 'trance' (not a trance as such, but deep relaxation) and he'd tell me I was calm, confident etc.
I was also given a task which I had to complete. My first task was getting a drink from the bar in a pub. And I was also given a different CD recording that I had to listen to before bed each night. It was brilliant and if I'm feeling wobbly, I'll bring it out and have a listen. It's excellent.
