  Join clubs, get hobbies, socialise more, if you hang around with a group of friends try and meet women through them - alot of relationships start like that.

  I'm quiet and shy but I'm getting better at chatting away to people and I'm actually getting funnier. Practise makes perfect.
  
  Meeting through friends is good though, gives you a good chance of seeing them more regulalry and getting a bit of a connection going.

  Go out with some friends and you'll probably find you'll meet people through going out or through your mates.

  I second that... I just returned from a week of snowboarding with friends. We've been 25 peeps and among them there was this girl I liked for a long time, but always was more in love with another girl. Rarely saw her...
  Thought she was just meh-average looking. Now after a week cooking, playing parlor games, snowboarding, talking and living with her, I think I never got to know a more desirable person.

  With the right friends you will always get to know new people/girls... It's rather easy to come to a stage with them to start relationships, and not having an awkward time, if you get rejected. Don't let a single chance pass... I think I am in love at the mo (and that's a rare sighting!), alas, she's taken..
