:yeees: its ridiculous that breaches of data protection it isn't a criminal offense already.

    Data Protection is bollox, I know from experience that nothing happens if it gets breeched, not even an apology.

    If it was already a criminal offence, then half of the government's departments would currently be answering for their actions in a court of law. I'd love to see how Labour would spin its way out of that.

    loss of personal data feeds so much criminal activity tho that i really cannot see how it isn't at present a crime in itself. yes. the government would have a lot to answer for but so to would private firms and individuals. at the moment people/companies/government depts are able to breech and leak out masses of personal info and wherever that data ends up/whatever it is used for - those people who it concerns will probably become victims of crime themselves without even a single apology or consequence to those who leak it. its disgraceful.

    I dont see how its labours fault to be fair, i mean im sure some discs were lost when the tories were in power, probly quite a few, i mean personally i wouldnt consider this under data protection, id consider it under a stupid and forgetful law.
