Waiting For Physio

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
About 3 weeks ago my GP refered me for physio. How long ahould I expect to wait to hear anything from the hospital and how long should I be looking to wait before I actually start?

The problem I've got now is that I could really do with it soon as I've been in alot of pain recently.:(

I was refered a few days ago and doc said assessment should be within a few weeks.
Each area will be different though.

Wait from referral to treatment here is about 16 weeks I think.

It will be different for everyone of course depending on waiting lists.

I don't know anyway as I have health insurance

I had my assessment within about 4 weeks, which is pretty impressive for Leeds, as usually you're waiting months for owt.

    5 days maximum here :p

Early assessment and quick treatment (max. three sessions) prevents need for long term treatment (more than six sessions)...
