What movie are you most looking forward to in the summer?

With another season of the biggest movies of the year fast approaching I was wondering what one or ones you're most looking forward to?

An obvious one is Spider-Man. It's being built up so much and until recently I couldn't wait for it. I've changed my mind now tho and think it looks crap. I used to be a big comic collector *hang head in shame* and this film is just going to ruin everything we know and love about the webhead. Most of it is probably going to be computer animated and the guy they chose to play spidey is just too damn weedy! They should've gone with the guy who plays Xander in Buffy in my opinion.

So for me, I'm mostly looking forward to the second Lord Of The Rings film The Two Towers and Star Wars Episode 2!

Saw a preview on Film 2002 with Jonathan Ross for Star Wars and it looks just bloody fantastic! I didn't like Ep 1 much but I would actually consider camping out the day its opened to see it first!

So now I've calmed down, what are the rest of you fine people's views?

Roll on the summer! <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

Can only be Attack Of The Clones, have booked my seat already for the first weekend.

The problem with Ep 1 was that most of the critic etc expected it to have the same effect on them as the first, yet forgot that they were kids when they first saw Star Wars. I actually thought it did what it was supposed to (even if I can't find the need for Jar-Jar) and my son loved it so it must have hit the right target...

Having read a spoiler for Ep 2 (On this site) a year ago, I have been looking forward to it. I always thought that the darker "Empire Strikes Back" was the better of the the original trilogy - and this sounds like it is just as dark...

I'm looking forward to Star Wars and Spiderman, but dreading them at the same time. I work at a cinema and we've already sold 1000 tickets for star wars. Its gonna be busy, i think i'll pull a sickie that week.

I was never into the Star Wars films but I think they are going to far with the series now. Episode 3 is due for release in 2005.

The films I am mostly looking forward to are Resident Evil and Rollerball.

Correctomundo! Star Wars is going to be WELL good, why the hell are they remaking Rollerball with that kid out of American Pie in it?

I'm really looking forward to Austin Powers 3, and Attack of the Clones should be good too.

Working in a cinema like i do, blockbuster season is both the best and the worst season of the year. Best cause its busy, worst cause we have to see the same films over and over again - imagine the summer of 1999, nothing but Phantom Menace, Spy Who Shagged Me, Wild Wild West and The Mummy.

And we've only just rid ourselves of LOTR and Harry Potter

So I am dreading Spiderman and Star Wars although I think MIB 2 and Austin powers 3 might stand up to repeated viewings.

I dont even know of any non blockbuster films, but maybe thats best cause i know il have 2 wait till video.

Hunted - Tommy Lee Jones & Benicio.

Do you not all think the new Star Wars will be crap like the last one?

Yeah - the Phantom Menace was certainly shite, the majority will probably agree that the others were classics.

    Did you/I misunderstand?

I always find summer crap for films but that's because I don't generally like blockbuster action films.

I may go see spiderman tonight, but haven't decided yet. I expect epic II to be better than the last one but that's not saying much. Nothing else really stands out to me except maybe the next Friday the 13th(kidding) Austin Powers maybe but I thought the second one wasn't nearly as good as the first. It went from funny stupid to stupid stupid and relied on all the same punch lines as the first.

I'm not usually a big fan of the annual plague of summer blockbusters, but I am looking forward to seeing Scooby Doo and Spiderman this year.

we took a group of nine of us to see it and most of us were a little dissapointed. The basic story line was good as well as the special effects. It was a little cheasy in parts and could have had a little more spice in the action scenes. The worst part about it was the villian. He reminded me of something from a power rangers episode(not that I would know). Its worth going to see but its not the movie of the summer.
