Phone Won't Read Sim Card

My mum dropped her phone (Nokia 6111) yesterday adn turned it back on. The phone wouldn't read the sim card, but if I put my card in her phone, it works and if she puts her card into my phone, it works.

Anyone have any ideas please?

    make sure the contacts on the sim card are clean, if it's contract then just ring up the network and ask for a replacement sim card.

    not sure what you do if your mum's not on contract :(

    I was on PAYG with Orange and rang up and said my SIM card had stopped working and they sent me a new one free.

    Mum is on PAYG.

    But how can it be the sim card if it works fine in my phone? :confused:

    There's always my favourite trick for phones:

    Take it all apart, clean all the contacts, put it all back together again, leave it turned off and try again in a few hours.
