Cheaper than my uni accomodation this year.
You pay more then that?
Mine was only £45 a week including Bills
How long ago did you go to uni? Mine was more than that too.
"No! No! I won't have that! There's a place in Eastbourne!"
I wonder if they met Alan Partridge during their stay?
Yeah but think of the money you would save on buying shampoo, conditioner and shortbread biscuits
How sodding ironic. I'd never heard of that place til about 2 weeks ago, when I had to take my mate up there for her to do a gig in a local pub.
Now it's in the news.
(I know that means nothing to people here, but it's amused the hell out of me)
maybe i should find a travel lodge instead
Erm, that's against the law. If they're using janet (the schools/colleges) network then they're NOT allowed to charge like that. They're allowed to charge a 'one off' administration charge for setting up the connection for you and that's it.
edited: well, maybe not against the law, but certainly against their terms with janet.
Because loads of halls charge extra for the internet/broadband connection, can't imagine that would be the case if it was against the terms.
I think he means the way it's charged - charging franki £6.50 a week implies its some kind of pay-per-use activity when it should be a one off fee for the year according to t&c - as the uni will only pay once for the year so otherwise they'll be making money off you. I pay £60 the year, over 38 weeks thats £1.58 a week - so franki is paying over 4 times what I pay for what should cost the university effectively the same (afterall, bt broadbrand charges the same all over the country, so why shouldn't whatever janet is lol)
Mine was charged per term, although like everything was also converted to a per week/month/year cost for budgetting.
