sex drive randomness

anyone ever experienced a completely random loss of sex drive?
personally iv always wanted at least twice a day, but currently im just, not bothered. I'm perfectly happy in every other way, just nothing turns me on.

not boyfriend.
not porn.
not erotic literature.
not fantasizing.

i dont understand it. never had this before. anyone offer any insight or similar experiences?

    maybe stress,... many conscious or subconscious issues affect the sex drive negatively.

    I get this every now and again, my sex drive has entirely vanished at the moment.

    Hi there, I think what you are describing is actually quite common, but often unexpected when you are young and sprightly and feel like you should be sexually active, or at least tuned into your desires all of the time. Sometimes this belief can cause more stress in itself!

    We have an askTheSite question in the archive called dwindling desire which may well give you some insight.

    Oh I just read that article and it says to see your GP. I've seen mine twice and they didn't seem to give a shit tbh. Should I go back?

    Hey Kangoo,
    If you really don't think you doctor was any help, then you do have other options. You could ask to see a different doctor. The following article explains about getting a second opinion: GPs: The alternatives. Or you could consider going to see a therapist if you think it's an ongoing problem. The British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy is a good place to start.

    my boyfriend goes through phazes like this but it doesnt really last that long but me tbh i dont think my sex drive has ever dwindled yet lol
