Get yourself off to Spearmint Rhino for the evening. That should take his mind off it.

Getting drunk doesn't work for me. Alcohol heightens emotions and the last wthing you want is to be in a pub or a club and him crying his eyes out.

Maybe a bit of space first, let him know you're there and how it'd be good to do something together soon.

    pm me too

I reckon one idea, get some male mates, do a big chilli or order pizza, some coke (try to avoid too much alcohol), and play xbox360 / ps2 / whatever. I find computer games do quite well in nullifying heartache :).

You might as well just post the goss jb, i think everybody wants to hear it..
I'm with bri on this one, alcohol isnt a good idea. Being drunk and upset makes people do some stupid things, like going round their exes house at 3 in the morning like i did on friday :o

all that happened really is he dropped to his knees and held on to her, in public and she was screaming for him to let go until the couple came along threatening to call the police.

Sounds like something that happened outside my window in uni. I watched the whole thing, it was hilarious (well not for the two of them). I suggest you do something fast-paced and outdoorsy with no alcohol involved, like go-karts or something.

There is nothing better than distraction. Please don't babble with him about it analyze or interpret it. It won't change and it only puts salt in the wound.

Do whatever is fun, get him out. Best way is to be in a group of people with him, then it doesn't matter what you do. Make a party, make a home-video-game evening. Get sloshed, go bowling, do a martial arts class, WHATEVER.

    distraction is the key.

 Thats funny. Shouldnt be but is. Tops some of my public arguments with my ex.

Just distract him, games, films, whatever. Booze but too much as it will make him miss her and cry and its not pretty.

Ignoring them when the say "I miss blah blah" sometimes works. Harsh but fair. That or remind them why the split up in the first place (nicley, they might not like hearing you slag the ex off)
