cheap laptops

I need 2 cheap laptops, nothing special but enough to surf the net and use word etc, nothing super powerfull as I have my home system,

looking to spend, £200 max, (per laptop, give or take some)

    Doubt you'll find a brand new laptop at £200 but for reference a P3 800 MHz is enough to get the job done. I have a P3 500 MHz and that does the job well enough - but a bit more power I think would have been useful.

    Hmmm, yeah, finding a pair for sale is hard... im looking on ebay but seem so over priced, £250 - 300 seems more reasonable

    I checked cos I got a DELL £50 off voucher in the post that I don't need BUT the small print says ran out 28/3/07 - that's like a week before they even sent it to me.

    Have you tried Tesco. I was in yesterday and they had Gateway laptops from £300/ £350.

    Dont think i have ever seen a new laptop at the £200 level though.

    Assuming I've understood correctly what HDD is, it doesn't seem like that much.

    its 10gb, yes, and its hard drive, but my gf only needs it for uni work, and photos, more than enough room
