Who to blame?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
ok..I just watched the local news. A 24 yr old man died on Saturday night after taking an E at the premonition club in Birmingham. His family did a press conference. His sister blamed the person who sold him the tablet for killing him.

Now..of course it is very sad and nobody would wish that on anybody...but surely it was his choice to take that E (as it is anyones who does so-unless they were spiked)...so can you really blame the dealer?

No you can't blame the dealer and its a disgrace he will be, do shopkeepers get blamed if a child dies as a result of a reaction to a peanut ?

when i buy pills, i take responsibility from there on in, trouble is if your dead you don't get a say <IMG SRC="frown.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

it is however only natural for the family to look for somebody/something to blame other than their son, truth is, its his own fault.

As someone on this site once said:

"its not not about who won or lost but how you place the blame".

    Its so true these days <IMG SRC="frown.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">.

Although I am unaware of the specifics of this case, I know from experience that people don't die from adverse reactions to Ecstasy or "Killer Pills" as the press would have everyone believe.

    <IMG SRC="mad.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> <IMG SRC="mad.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

People die on Ecstasy because they are undereducated on its effects. The most likely cause would have been over/under hydration and/or exhaustion.

To combat this all you have to do is sip a pint of water per hour and take regular breaks from dancing.

Hell, Leah Betts didn't die of Ecstasy, she died cos she drank 2 litres of water in an hour and she wasn't even in a hot club dancing. This fact (from the coroners report) that came about 5 days later, after the media frenzy, was given a paragraph tucked away somewhere in the middle of the Daily Mail.

Sorry I've gone on a bit of a rant here but ultimately it's the governments fault for not providing people with all the right information for making an informed decision.
