Makeup help needed!

I have a ball on friday - long black dress with cream/black and pewter accessories, so I can afford to go dramatic on one aspect of the makeup - decided on the eyes.

Seen two that I rather like

but I'm not sure either is completely what I'm after, I'd prefer to blend them, taking the bold black eyeliner from the first and putting it on the second. Do you think this would be too much?

The eyeshadow I have in mind primarily (although I tend to blend several) is a very dark metallic "noir emeralde" black and green, because whilst my eyes are a mix of colours, they suit green best.

I'm going to have a good play, but do you think it'd work? Any other suggestions?

    Anyway, so erm.. green. I'm not sure.
    Why don't you go for the traditional black smoky eyes? It'll compliment the cream and black of the dress. Or, a charcoal colour - which will compliment the pewter accessories.
    Adding green, whilst making your eyes look lovely, may look a bit too random if there aren't any other green hints anywhere else in the look.

    Personally, I'm more a fan of the first look as a whole, can't say I can picture it green or mixed with the other either...
