our computer is loading and running very slowly. Where is the place that I can check what is loading when started and running in the background? There is prob a really easy answer but I can't for the life of me think!!

    control ALT DELETE buttons will show you what's running

    Also if you want a massive list then go here and get a copy of autoruns (for free). It lists everything that starts automatically.

    Autoruns - check what is set to run at startup. Pay close attention to any entries under the "Logon" tab that are not signed applications.

    Process Explorer - similar to Task Manager, lets you see what programs are running.
