What is the best way to store them?

Mine always go that yucky brown shrivelled up way before I get a chance to use them all.

See that's what I do, but I open them, use them once and then the next time I go to use them, they've gone all manky :(

I always have them just lying about, rather than in their bag or whatever it was originally packaged in.

Maybe you just keep them too long and don't eat them quick enough. If I remember correctly, they go off quicker than other veg like tomatoes.

 i'm fairly sure they've gotta have air, so in a paper bag or lose rather than plastic or cling film stuff

I'd never find them again if I put them in my fridge loose!

Mushrooms are only good for one thing in my opinions and taste has nothing to do with it. :D

    They're rough! :yuck:

Mushrooms don't freeze well, but if you sautee them you can freeze them in bags or airtight containers with a bit of their juice and use them within two months. You don't need to defrost them either, just add them to whatever you're cooking.

You can get dried mushrooms that last ages, when you need them you soak them in water for a while before using for cooking.
I always have some in, in case I run out of fresh ones
