Freeview box AV problems

Hey. I've got a Sagem 6280 PVR freeview/harddrive set top box, and I'm having problems switching to my dvd player which is wired through the freeview box. I can normally get it to switch if I fiddle around removing and replacing cables for a few minutes, which is a pain, but surely i should be able to do it just by flicking the AV switch on the freeview remote and turning the DVD player on... Anyone got any ideas? I'm planning on calling the helpline tomorrow, but really needed to watch a film for an essay i've got to write tonight!!

    I always press AV on the tv remote not the digi box remote.

    Well the AV on the TV box is what my freeview box goes into. have just tried it and it doesn't take me onto the dvd player either.

    As i press the AV button on the digital remote and it flicks between Tv/Av/Digital, you can see the DVD screen but it doesn't stay.
