2 of the 9 'terrorists' released without charge

As the title suggests, two of the nine people arrested in the latest big set of 'terror raids' have been released without charge.

Given all the other raids, all the other arrests and so few people actually charged - do you have much trust in the Police?
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

Regradless of those incidents the answer would be no. But considering them you have to ask whether it's any surprise that mulsims might not.

Stand by for any of the men who get released without charge to be accused in the coming weeks of being paedos... like it happened with the Forest Gate brothers.

Wtf are you on about? Child porn images were found on his computer - whilst probably not guilty if you can't understand why the police had genuine reason to think something wasn't right I'm quite surprised.

As for the recent arrests and any released, on a complex operation with suspects coming into contact with a lot of other people this is pretty normal I'd guess. Had the police not acted quickly with this recent terrorist plot the results would have been catastrophic. The police do a very difficult and unenviable job and it's way too early to condemn them for their handling of this latest investigation.

The likes of Galloway and Respect, left wing 'human rights' lawyers and left wing establishment chums seem to think the first priority of the police and security services should be making the Muslim community happy. All this pressure on the police from such parties to tiptoe around issues of national security will have devastating consequences in the future if the police listen to these people. The police have to act on threats and the security services should not be holding back for fear of upsetting Yasmin Alibi Brown. Everyday people are arrested and released without charge for all sorts of crimes and this has been the case for decades. Get over it.

Seeing as the police lied about the circumstances in which one of the brothers got shot, forgive me for being a bit skeptical about the child porn allegations.

There is no reason why it couldn't be true of course, but the problem with crying wolf all the time and deliberately misleading the public is that when you finally tell the truth about something few people believe you.

So what do you think? Did the police plant the child porn images on his computer in some grand scheme?

I don't know. Before July 2005 I didn't think the police would shoot and innocent man and then lie about the circumstances in which he was shot (running from coppers, acting nerviously, jumping the barrier, wearing a thick overcoat with cables protruding out of it etc etc).

Have either of the brothers been charged with child porn offences?

To be honest computers are so complicated, the internet (and broadband) so universal and peoples' knowlege of them so rudimentary now that unless you have extremely stringent anti-virus software I wouldn't be suprised if a lot of people had child-porn images somewhere on their hard drive without their knowledge. So if a computer was stringently checked by police (as presumably in this case) there would be some probability they'd be able to find an illegal file, even if these guys had never looked at anything beyond al jazeera news and the occassional download of an Islamic prayer off limewire.

Got pulled over down by Southampton airport just now. Searched my van thouroughly, searched me, took all my details and did a check on me, and then gave me a breath test cos they found lager in the van.

I've been tugged many many times before but never by the anti terrorist squad.

Mind you if they were the anti-terrorist squad they shouldn't be losing time breathalising people.
