what good stuff can you remember about being British in the 90s, films? TV? Sports?

I mainly remember that Gazza goal against Scotland, Owen's goal against Argentina, Beckham's free kick against Greece, Southgate missing that penalty, and both Becks & Gazza being sent off in WC matches.

Not to forget Oasis, the soundtrack for the 90s.

Oh, and Human Traffic - the last great film of the 90s :D!

All i remember is Take That and East 17.

Babyshambler reminded me - Spice Girls. They were my life like 96/97. Had posters, videos, books, shoes everything.

Sports - Euro 96 sticks in my mind. Was the first time i'd watched football.

TV - Top of the Pops, Art Attack i seemed to watch a lot, oh yeah and Birds of a Feather. Used to love that.

Music - it has to be Wet Wet Wet, Take That and the Spice Girls for me... and buying Smash Hits every week and sticking those free stickers fucking everywhere! I didn't really begin to appreciate Oasis until a few years ago, when I grew up a bit.

TV/Books - I remember running home from school to watch The Demon Headmaster, and proper loving Jacqueline Wilson books. The Bed & Breakfast Star! Mint.

Sports - watching Stockport County every week, home and away. Still love them now.

I remember singing to Robson & Jerome and The Beautiful South.

Also used to like watching Wizadora, TopCat, Keanan & Kel etc.

I can't really think of much else, i wasn't all that old to remember much of importance.

Channel 5 came into existence. OMG that was a BIG event, and all they showed to start with was Raw Hide. Aahahahaha.

Rainbow. Seasame Street. I paid no attention to pop music AT ALL. As such, Fear Factory was my main thing then.

Jurassic Park. When that film came out, the whole country went dinosaur crazy. The natural history museum must have made a killing off the back of the film's success!

The Blur/Oasis thing. I was always more of a Blur fan. Parklife was one of the very first albums I acquired. I still have it.

Strangely I havent gone off them! :yum:

I adored Human Traffic. It is still up there as one of my faves.

I remember Sun In and straw like hair as a result, and walking the streets in Adidas Poppers, and thinking I was the bees knees

Oh and Icey, do you mean Top Cat? the yellow cool cat from america?

Picked Onion Space Raiders and Tab are both from 70s dudes.

    I was there.

My most abiding memory of the 90s was the re-birth of Glastonbury and the rise of festivals generally...

Apart from the births of my kids of course ;)
