Ive started off with psychotherapy in order to get over my depression and self-harming problems, and the therapist said ta the end of the session about Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and how I seem to be showing some of the signs of it.
Has anyone else here had experience of this mental illness? Dont tell me to do a Google search because I know how to, I just was wondering of anyone else feels/is suffering from a similar thing. It ahsnt filled me with confidence to be told that I was referred to a specialist self-harm unit and that Im unusually young to be getting this type of help lol.

I sounds like someone is trying to justify their salary
If you aren't satisfied with your current psychotherapist, no-one's forcing you to go back. And if it helps even in a really small way to post your worries on theSite, then we will be here to offer any advice or support that we can.
Good luck Kerm

it's a site where people write about their personal experiences of different things and a couple of people have written about borderline personality disorder. You may find it helpful. I know the link is long, sorry!
Well, Ive just started and she seems nice enough, that werent the problem She was quite reluctant to be open seeing as how it was only teh first 'assessment' interview:.
Might be of interest to you. Take care.
Avoidant personality diosrder is completely different to BPD there are many different types of personality disorder all with differing symptoms...
to summarize ridiculously:
BPD: Sufferers often speak of feeling empty, and have very unstable relationships. They are impulsive, sometimes becoming engaged in things like shoplifting and casual sex. They have a false image of themselves and sometimes carry unrealistic goals and desires.
APD: Tend to be very passive and act as if other people are much better or more intelligent or skilful than them.
Let other people make important decisions for them and they really hate being alone because they feel helpless.
