Question about the pill!

I'm going on holiday in the summer and my friend told me (although she might have been making it up so that I look like a fool!) that you can get a pill which you only take whilst your on holiday that stops your periods, and you don't have to go on the pill properly.

Does anyone know if this is right, it soudns like a good idea but I need to know if its true!

    i don't know about that, but if you are on the pill you can run them back to back so you only get four periods a year, and that's what i do, and i count forwards to my holidays to make sure that i don't come on when i'm on holiday. The only pill i have heard of like that, i didn't think had come out yet - it's due to be released some point soon, but if you're not on the pill because you don't like the idea of putting chemicals in your body, wouldn't this new one have the same effect?

    I've never heard about that. But when you are on the pill, all you have do is to keep taking it without the seven days interruption. I always do that when I go on holiday. It works just fine.

    If you aren't on the pill, you should talk to your doctor first.

    Yeah! Its called Norethisterone and I had to take it 3 times a day. Works a treat and you don't have to go on the pill <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">
