Ive been on the pill for 12 days, started on the first day of my period. Im still bleeding lighty, thought it had stopped yesterday and had sex for the first time without a condom. Then it started again, just after i had sex . Has the pill protected me, i thought it started protecting straight away as long as you take on the first day of your period

when i started the pill i had similar problems and ended up changing brands after 3 months. after that things went smoothly from day one of my new brand of pill (ie. 100% regularity). if you're concerned, or if this continues for more than another couple of weeks, go see your GP or family planning clinic. you are perfectly entitled to ask to change brands, and you can keep changing until you find something to suit you.

apart from that i think you were protected. and the fact that you've had bleeding since the sex i would say is proof of that.

you can get breakthrough bleeding so yes you probably were protected. as long as you did leave at least 7 days between starting the pill and having sex

It can depend on the kind of pill you have been prescribed. Phone up the surgery or clinic for a quick chat and they will be able to give you the right advice.
