You shouldn't really Be consuming anything that's 10 years out of date!

I had the same dilema recently. a 48hour old boiled egg. I decided against it in the end :)

I woulden't touch the beer, stella's bad enough even when it's fresh :(

So how did you come across this decade old bottle of beer? And are you really that desperate, just go buy a new pack :p
Though, honestly, I probably would have drank it so I'm really not at liberty to say anything bad :p

Agreed. However, it does make Indian taste less spicy...

Dump it and go to Sainsburys. I am sure they have a party pack for a fiver as a special at the moment. Or.... Why not take it to Sainsburys, this time of night they have all the students in and all the management have gone home. Go to the customer service desk and play merry-hell that you bought this lager yesterday and low and behold! It's 10 years out of date. You don't have your receipt because your flatmate had to bring some bananas back yesterday that were off. Tell them you have half a mind to go to the local press because you are so disgusted. The poor sod on the desk will fill their pants and let you exchange the old stuff for new.

Cha-cha-ching - a load of new in-date stella, ready to be chilled and drunk just in time for Casualty (or whatever is normally on at 8:00 on a Wednesday)

Go for it, it takes a firm nerve and a wide-eyed innocence, let us know how you get along.

    Wow that's pretty old.

You'll know if it's off, it stinks. For comparison, we had some that was about 3 months out of date in the fridge, and that smelt foul. So 10 years, yeah, it may be a little past its best.

When we used to chuck the ullage at the offy i worked in, got the beer was rank. More beer/bitter than lager, but they used to have this thick green mold growing on top :yuck:

    What's to go off????

By boiling it, you have killed off anything that is living, and therefore decomposable.
