Unlocking phones

I have a mobile phone going spare which I'm going to give to my mate. Only thing is, it's one of those 3 phones. Is there a way of unlocking it so it takes his O2 sim, and how do I go about it? Does it cost?

    3 phones are harder and more expensive to unlock than most other networks. Best bet is to go to your local market, if lots of websites but will involve you sending the phone to them.

    think it will cost £15-20

    Phone up 3 and get an unlock code - 15 quid.
