The dictionary definition of 'delicious irony'.

Or perhaps even 'poetic justice'...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6119226.stm

Mind you, I'm almost feel sorry for the man if he's so fucked up in the head he thinks
There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark and I've been warring against it my entire adult life

Dark? Repulsive? You obviously didn't find it too repulsive mate.

I actually find it very sad that people will leave double and tormented lives because they have come to believe natural and perfectly normal instincts are 'dark, 'repulsive' or 'sinful'.

Though he should at least have had the decency of not getting involved in a high profile campaign against gay rights while he was secretly enjoying some of its pleasures.
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

Hang on, I don't get what the problem is here. Are we talking about a massage or a "massage?" But yeah, I agree with you on the main point.

So much hate, addressed at yourself, would drive a person nuts. The man is clearly insane.

We are talking about gay sex. The 'massage' claim was as ludicrous as it was untrue, and the pastor has now admitted to a sexual 'immorality'.

I think the more interesting question is, if he admits buying the drugs, but doesnt admit using them, what did he do with them? Because if he gave them to the other guy thats supply a far more serious offence than a bit of buggery.

I think he claims he threw them away.

At least he said that while he was maintaining he had not had any sexual relations with the man. I don't know if he's made any admissions regarding the meth.

So he bought drugs and threw them away, then went to have a 'massage' with a gay man in secret to just have a totally legit massage? I hate to be cynical, but that does sound a little suspect.

Interesting to hear what his views on homosexuality are, does he think that he personally was turned or whether he belives that it is just how God intended him to be...?

i feel sorry. no-one can deny the charisma that evangelical men have. those people reap what they sow. they take what they've worked for. besides the bible is good for sinners: it allows a certain latitude - hence the famous exemption clause of 'acceptance of christ as redemer'. but if it makes men and women feel passioante about something then it is great for human kind. u i wish i could inspire that kind of feeling about me. well done the evangelicals. after all, the best people on earth have alter-egos which adapt to make a better place for others. look at comediens, actors, evangelicals, lawyers and women. all characters in the art of life. gifted people who deserve all they get, and arguably should reject and ignore the established and 'authorative' laws of lesser men, i.e the lawmakers, relgieous or academic, who chose to criminalise drug taking, those people who neglect the basic security of the ppl in the prostitution trade through prhoibition, the same people who ignore human trafficing. this is the voice of public opinion and it surely misguided. UNTO ME.

Well there are theories and there has been psychological tests to prove lots of homophobic people have hidden gay tendancies.

Do you have links? I would assume homophobia in most cases either because of background (eg your parents taught you and the people you were around when you were younger agreed) or religion in many cases.

    Oooh I'll have a search.
I know Sigmund Freud did one where he picked a group of homophobic men and a group of straight men who weren't homophobic. He showed them each as seperate groups, a gay porn film and tested for arousal. I can't remember the % but a large amount of the homophobic group were aroused at what they saw.
But as with all psychological tests, they are only theory.

I'm sure there are more tests. I'll google now.

Edited to say - upbringing can play a big part in it too. My theory is a lot of homophobic extremsts may have had gay thoughts growing up (which is not unusuaul and doesn't mean your gay) but they were suppressed by their upbringing and Religion. They are told it's wrong and dirty and that's how they feel so they hide these feeligns instead of just going with the flow.

    This is only my theory.

    Here's Freud's theory
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latent_homosexuality

Here's a bit of an argument stating that the arousal was brought on by anxiety.

Thanks - that's interesting. But perhaps there's several type of homophobia. The first is the most extreme which is 'gay bashing' and physical or verbal attacks on homosexuals. I'd be perhaps more inclined to say that in at least some of these cases there may be 'latent homosexuality'

Then I suppose there's a second kind which is religously motivated, which falls into two types - people who seek religion as a way to overcome their homosexuality and people who are automatically religious and dislike homosexuality because of their religion.

But I suspect that's there plenty of people who are to some degree homophobic in that feel disquiet when they see men (or even two women kissing) and that they think homosexuality is unnatural. I'm not sure if that is latent homosexuality, or whether its upbringing or even some natural biological response. and some of the people who feel like this may be extremely liberal about it (perhaps out of guilt that they feel homosexuality is wrong)

Haha after reading that I can't stop laughing at the thought of a self-described "homophobic" man :chin: volunteering to go down to a lab, having a load of scientific equiptment attached to his penis and being shown gay porn!!

Probably reckoned Satan was corrupting him.
