64bit processors

Is it a little too early to be getting 64bit processors? Intel are allready lining up 4xprocessors. is it right to say that a lot of progs wont utilise the 64 bit capabilities yet?

    I had one ages ago and most of the time you will find they run 32bit programs with ease. So that's one benefit, the other is when everything shifts to 64 you're already there.

    No I meant I upgraded from 32 to 64 ages ago. 64bit CPU's have been on the market for some time.

    Just about everything on the market is 64 bit now. The question is whether you use a 64bit OS to go with them.

    Support for the 64Bit versions of Windows XP is picking up, but you are a bit stuck still when it comes to running old games or install packages. Still, everything will go that way eventually.

    You currently can't run 16 bit apps in 64 bit windows, which means that some old programs, and the installers for some newer programs, don't work.
