What a load of sadly predictible old cobblers.

Clicko

The words Artic Monkeys and all time don't really sound as if they should go together. I guess their complete mediocrity and the fact that they won reflect most students' apathetic views when it comes to just about anything. That and it was conducted by the NME. Bunch of wankers.

I don't think I've ever heard it. What does that say about me?

You must have been living under a rock for the past year then.

It's alright, always played on nights out at uni, all that sorta shit like Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand is popular because it's easy on the ear and everyone dances.

Never heard it either, nor have I heard of the band. I've also never heard of Kaiser Chiefs or Franz Ferniand either.

Are these the same people that voted Live Forever and Wonderwall by Oasis to be the two best songs of all time? Polls like this are always shit. But anyway, our favourite songs in the clubs at uni were Hey Ya by Outcast and Intergalactic by The Beastie Boys. Sexy Boy by Air was always a floor filler too, but they hardly played it for some reason. But yeah, Guns n Roses, Queen and Michael Jackson was the usual sort of stuff.

They are not the student anthems of all time. They are the current top songs on the dance floor. Next year we will have a different trend. Hopefully a better trend.

yeh most students seemed to miss out on raves during their teenage years due to closet 'must work for my 4 alevels' and please my protective parents.

easily led by rubbish soft rock bands like FF, killers, and the 'left my tallent on the school bus' kooks!

'yeh they tell it how it is man' 'sooo cool'

    bloody youngsters no idea.

    The Bluetones - Marblehead Johnson.

Ocean Colour Scene (my first "cool" gig aged 12) - the riverboat song

    Anything by OASIS.

    Good. You don't want to.

    Overhyped stuff tbh.

And whenever anyone sas anything about "The Killers" I always assume they are mis-referencing the Iron Maiden album. If ONLY they were ;/

I've never heard the song either.

I haven't been living under a rock or on the moon but I have been living in Russia which almost counts.

Well the ultimate student anthem is obviously I Am the One and Only by Ches... which tells you everything you need to know about your average student

Reef's Place Your Hands always reminds me of being in first year; I can't imagine how many times I heard it.
