Hey,
Recently started a new relationship. The guy is really affectionate, in a geniune way that doesn't make me feel like he's takin the piss (which is rare for me! lol) Anyway he gives me loads of compliments, but I feel like I never really know how to compliment him.
What do you guys want to hear?

It's pretty simple to compliment a man, be it his hairdo tonight, his ability to make you laugh, his great stories.
stroking a mans ego is not hard, be creative.
I'm not talking about a one off compliment, i just mean generally.
I agree sexy is always a good one. But sweet or cute would NOT go down well, even when it fits the moment. hehehe.

But pretty much anything goes. To be honest you should be able to think of something genuinely complimentary about him if you like him and enjoy his company; but the bog standards are hair, eyes, outfit, the way they smell, the fact that they make the best brew in the world etc...
It doesn't surprise me! Personally I wouldn't inflate a boys ego by telling them they were too big... 'pleasure and pain' and all that jazz!!

Give him something more interesting than the usual "you're so great" compliment. Add a bit of a "was that really a compliment" twist to it, and get him thinking about you even more. Also complimenting him on something he's done (;)) is always going to be better than complimenting him on something he is.

This is definetely my usual technique. Totally agree with you on both counts.

just compliment him on something he does that is unique to him. thats whatll make him happy, just notice something noone else notices...
