Is it 101 you now call to get the police? Like if its not serious?

Its not for me, My neighbour wanted to know and I said I'd get back to him.

    You in Hampshiere/IoW?

In which case it is for you, but it's only a pilot scheme so this won't apply to many.

In Leicester if you phone 999 they turn up 2 days later anyway.

No, I'm serious - we had our windows kicked in and the police never arrived (we phoned whilst it was happening) and they phoned back and asked if they were sitll there and we said they'd made off now... 2 days later they came and took a statement.

I think my mate, covered by Thames Valley takes the biscuit. It took an hour and a half after the 999 call for someone to come when they had an intruder in their house. He and his dad (both >6'3") were holding the guy down who was still fighting and threatening to kill/harm the family.

When they told the operator they were about to start breaking the guys limbs then move onto his neck the sent someone round.

To their credit when someone rang them when I was threatened they were there in minutes.
