Northern Ireland defeat Spain!

Almost a year on to the day after the historic victory over England, Northern Ireland have defeated a full strength Spain side.

They twice came from behind to equalise through goals from David Healy after Spanish goals from Xavi and David Villa. Then to cap the night, and seal a hat-trick Healy lobbed Cassillas from 25 yards to make it 3-2. Kyle Lafferty (18), who plays for Burnley, and is from my hometown was outstanding in the first half and caused Spain lots of problems.

Healy is going down in Northern Ireland folklore with George Best.

What a legend.

    Scotland are getting better too.

Saturday against the Faroes was really good, played against absolutely fuck all, but since when has that ever stopped us fucking up in the past?

And tonight was great too, against a team who'd just drawn 1-1 away to the World Champions. We'd have lost that game under Vogts, whearas now we're on a really good run of form, and I don't see why we can't give Italy or France a game.

Got some realy decent young players establishing themselves now (McFadden, Boyd, Fletcher etc) and even though we won't qualify from this group, hope springs eternal

Yeah nice one NI, what a result.

Bet Leeds fans wish Healy played that well for them ;)

Healy played like a man possessed - well done to NI - they deserve it.

Ok the first goal was a scavenging striker's goal and poor defending by Spain. The second was an exceptionally well worked corner and a thumping finish from Healy and the third, though route one, still needed an excellent finish and that it got.

Well done NI - would be great to have you in Austria and Switzerland.

Actually missed the match but it's amazing, I remember the 0-0 match with Spain a while back where Healey nearly scored but now he got his hat trick. Fucking brilliant :D

Is it safe to venture down this forum yet? :o  :D

What a fucking disgrace. Aragones has offered his resignation. Unfortunately the Spanish FA didn't accept it.
