DON'T U JUST HATE HOMOPHOBIA!!!

Don't homophobics just piss you off. They think they are perfect and have the right to judge other people, in fact they probably don't know any gay people.
Why don't they just keep their dogmatic, sad and emotionally detached opinions to themselves.
I'm not gay, but I go to college with people who are. They're great people and really good company. Homophobics are just weak minded.

not really i dont hate homophobics, now dont get me wrong, but like ive noticed on here u go on and on about it, but we are all allowed judgments, just like how u get people who hate black people or the frnech, u see? we all have our own views and we should be able to express them (eg free speach) no as the person before said we are treating them like a different group. they just they same as whites, blacks etc etc, or where ur country of orgiin comes from, because everyone is different and thinks differently. i aint against gays or anything and aint gay myself but pls just stop going on about homophobia as its really boring and no one ever sticks up for blacks or aliens (jk) or australians or who ever ok!

When I say they're great, I mean the gay people I know (they're a great laugh).

I understand what you mean by not separating them from the crowd, but if we treat all ethnic or alternative groups in this society exactly the same, our future generations won't learn to accept each others differences.

We're not all sheep, we all have different daily regimes and cultures. I'm not saying point out gay people in the street, I just think they should be recognised in the same way as other ethnic groups and people should be more aware to not being discriminating.

As for people not sticking up for other ethnic minorities, racism is seen as worse discrimination as homophobia at the moment. This is probably because we've had longer to get used to other races and to understand that they're just the same as everyone else.

In my opinion, society is like a bag of Jelly Babies. Some of us are red Jelly Babies, some are yellow, some green and some black or orange. Imagine how shit a bag of Jelly Babies would be if they were all red. They'd be boring because there's no variety in them, just like society would be boring if we were all the same.

    Yes, homophobia is awful.

My youngest brother came out of the closet just a few months ago. Not an issue at all for our family- we are all very liberal.

What make me really angry is that the government won't accept his sexuality. It pisses me off that in this country, although discrimination based on sexual orientation is generally illegal, gays and lesbians can't get legally married or adopt children.

I'm curious about the laws in England. Can anyone tell me what the status of gay marriages and adoptions is?

I don't think gay couples can get married through the church and I'm not sure about adopting, but I don't think that's allowed either.

Although in general gay couples can't get married, it is sort of possible - I remember hearing about a gay couple trying to get married, and they found a priest who was prepared to do it (though I can't remember what denomination). Problem was that he got pressured into not doing it by the local community and his church bosses. They managed to do it in the end by going abroad.

I'm not sure about adoption, it's probably not illegal, just impossible in practice because the people who assess where to put children when they get adopted probably don't normally see gay couples as providing the right kind of environment for a child to grow up in, whether for homophobic reasons or because they're worried about the child getting ostracised.

as long as they leave me alone i have no problem. I don't mean leave me alone as in don't talk to me. I just don't want it right i my face

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.

i don't think it's fair on gay people that they have to put up with the problems that they do.

They have as much right to be on this planet and do the things they want to do as anyone else, I'm not gay myself but i do have friends who are (actually most of them are bisexual) and they are just ordinary people trying to get through life as best they can they live love and hurt just like all the rest of us,
the only difference is that when they fall in love it's with people of the same sex of them.

    From memory,
Homosexuality isn't a bar to adoption or fostering, but if you are in a same sex relationship you can not be considered as a couple adopting, only as an individual wishing to adopt.
