why is white bread so much more filling than brown?
any ideas?

    It isn't.

    It's more refined than brown so it gives you a bigger sugar high, which for a tiny while makes you feel full. The downside is that you get a sugar low which makes you feel hungry again 20 minutes later.

    Because fat is used to pump the bread up, rather than letting it rise.

    Im not a brown bread eater so cant help you on that one im afraid.

    i rarely have white. but having some this evening made me realize what a difference!! i mean the kcal count is pretty much the same so i couldn't figure it out, why. so i decided to post this random question on the boards. :p

    I don't like brown bread, the texture is almost disgusting to me and the taste isn't too good either.
