Deodrant Allergy?

About 3 weeks ago whenever I put deodrant on, my underarms were very itchy. I then changed to another brand and over the few days, my right underarm is itchy, but it's usually about an hour after putting deodrant on. Could this be an allergy or is it something else?
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

Do you shave? Could be irritation from that.

If it's an itch it's probably irritation rather than out and out allergy.

Yes I do shave, but tend not to do it so often now because I've managed to cut myself in that area few times.

I'm alergic to antiperspirant. Deoderant is fine, but antiperspirant uses tiny aluminum salts to block the sweat pores. This really irritates my skin.

So I only use plain old deoderant.

If you are allegic to certain anti-perperants, or get irritated very easily, sanex is a really good underarm deodrant.

    I'm alergic to antiperspirant.

That might be my problem, but sometimes (like yesterday adn this mornin) I'm fine adn don't itch. However, sometimes I just itch like crazy.

Could also be a problem with the soap you use. Try one that has some moisturiser in it. My skin gets very dry and itchy if I don't use Dove soap.

This might sound boring, but its a slightly scientific way to see whats causing you problems:

I recommend you try these things:

    1) Use Dove soap
    2) Use deoderant instead of antiperspirant
    3) Drink a little more water than usual

If after a week things get better, stop drinking the extra water.
If after a week of this, you're still ok, stop using Dove.
Then last but least do the same with the antiperspirant.

    This might isolate the cause.

Thanks. Tried a different deodorant this morning and seem to be fine for now.
