I just bought an earring, (as pictured) one of those hoops, with the ball you stick inbetween the two ends. However, I had forgotten I couldn't do them. I never bought them after several failed attempts and after half hour now of trying, I still can't. Its a thin and small earring with just a tiny bead. Its up in the ear part.     I've got a barbell, with a screwball thread, through my eyebrow. It's just a matter of practice. Try unscrewing it, till you feel it fall off the thread, then start to screw it on (no pun intended) and it should screw in straight (see previous no pun insert!)

    Its not the screw ones :( Its just the kind of rest it inbetween the two thing. I wish it were the screw one. Pooey

    Do you have any pliers? I usually just squeeze the ring open with the pliers and then put the ball in between, then let go of the pliers.

    Failing that, get someone else to have a go? My dad does mine for me sometimes!

    I've already bent it too wide, I should have asked before I went on attempting :p

    I'll try the pliers for squeezing it shut.

    yep the pliers should work just be careful you dont open it too wide coz otherwise youll have hell to pay closing it again :) you can actually buy special pliers for those but hey they are a lot of money ;)
