I got this email a few days ago.......

Hello,

I am writing to let you know that we found in your profile you were offering an escort service in Gaydar Chat.

Please make sure you do not pubicize your business on the site because otherwise I will be obligated to suspend your profile.

You can upgrade to commercial and if you were keen on doing that I will be more than happy to send you an email with the pertinent explanation.

Please note that you still name in your profile that you charge. I would suggest you remove that and come back to me

Kind Regards

Emilio

Obvioulsy i don't sell sex. Can't give it away, let alone sell it.;) I responded straight away, asking what they were going on about and still haven't had a reply. They're usually quite quick in replying to email.

So, the question is. Is this libellous ? A friend says it isn't, as it isn't 'public'. Not that i'm going to take them to the Old Bailey for 6 figure sum, but i might get a years membership free.

Thoughts please.

Ta.

You could make out that you are deeply offended by their suggestion that you are a prostitute and see what they do. Not sure if they are legally obliged to do anything though but might as a gesture of good will.

Double check what your profile says too - obviously you wouldn't have written that you charge but you might have accidently written something that implies this by mistake or you might have checked a wrong box somewhere along the way.

Yeah i did, carefully. Even changed my password and tied email account to make sure someone hadn't hacked into it. It could be an honest mistake, but it's p***ing me off that they haven't had the decency to say 'ooops sorry about' when i'm a paid member.

What did you reply to them? When did you send it?

If you haven't already, try putting your complain in writing and sending it to:
QSoft Consulting Ltd, PO Box 113, Twickenham, TW1 4WY, stating Your Username, the Site to which You are registered and/or to which Your complaint relates.

From reading their terms and conditions it looks like you probably aren't legally entitled to anything. But tell them how upset you are and unimpressed by them and see what happens.

About 15 minutes after i got their original email on 7th August. Thanks for the address. The bf is going through QSoft's website to find a managing director type person to write too.
