Downloading Music

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I've just got a new laptop and am now all set up with wireless broadband and the whole shebang.

I've used Napster (when it was free) and Kazaa in the past but is there something better out there? I've never really understood the whole download thing. What's free (anything?!) and what's not anymore?

All suggestions and help are welcome!

Legal or not? If you don't care... get ABC and head to sites like www.torrentspy.com

Someone has just recommended Limewire to me. Any experience, anyone?

Personally, I've not touched p2p or torrents for a good while now. Newsgroups are the best ;). Much more limited choice though :(.

    Shareaza is the best.

I use limewire - its much much better than kazaa which i used before (none of the annoying pop-ups and ads every 5 secs) and is good for finding specific songs. my flatmate uses torrents (torrentspy i think) and it seems really good if u want to find whole albums but only seems to find the modern/recent/mainstream type of stuff.

I like Limewire. I find the vast majority of the songs I look for.
