Hi,
Probably been asked a million times before but can you get pregnant by having sex when being on your period??

    its the least likely time to get pregnant, but its not a reliable contraceptive, especially for younger women whos ovulation patterns arent properly established yet.

    unlikely but still possible.

    ive always wondered how its possible because i thought when you're on your period, you're getting rid of the egg and all the lining so there wouldn't be anything there

    Sperm can live in the woman's body for quite a number of days. The first day of a woman's period marks the first day of her cycle, so for instance, if she has sex on the last day of her period, and bleeds for 7 days, then she had sex on day 7. As Suzy said, ovulation patterns may not be established yet, and a the person in the example may ovulate somewhere around day 13/14. Recalling the fact that sometimes sperm can live in the woman's body for up to 5 days, it's not a risk people should be taking unless they're very aware of their bodies cycles.

    yeah it is possiblee - but unlikely.....as said before, sperm can live in you for a few days so is possible it could meet an egg
