jeeps! spent 15pnds on 118118 calls so far this month - 9 days.

'the remainder of this call costs 15p per minute from most landlines - the number you are calling is ......'
which i understood to mean the remainder of the time it takes for the woman to read me this number will cost me 15p.

this was not the case with 192 was it. no because 192 was free and someone needed to make money.

im sure offtel have investigated this but i know that i shouldn't enter into a contract with the company unless i know of the terms in clear and precise terms such as a more appropriate '

disgraced.

Yeah it's a shambles. I use BT's 118500. Not sure how much it costs, but they're quick.

You had to pay for 192 and it was quite expensive actually. I can't remember how much, about 50p I think.

    192 was free from a payphone :P

Personally I use 118118.com from my mobile using opera mini (web browser)

It's practically free, does take a while longer though.

    I used to use ukphonebook.com - I don't know if it's still free though.
