The first civil partnership break-up is in the papers.

Daily Mail Story

I guess it was just a matter of time but it is a bit sad. What is sadder though is most of the "readers comments" left at the end of that article by Daily Mail readers.

Daily Mail readers deserve to be summarily executed though.

A shame to see relationships fail like that, but why is it news?

It's no surprise, as one of the comments says, people are people.

As for the less savoury comment, what do you expect? As story like this is always going to attract the bigots and saldy the Mail tends to pander to them anyway.

    Because it is the first.

I have posted a comment (under SW), I wonder if it'll be published as it's very pro-gay. :chin:

Who gives a fuck? It's hardly as though gay couples don't have problems!

This is not really "news" but it is as much news worthy as the first ever Divorce in a straight relationship.

As for Daily Mail readers, why are people SO pathetic they say they should be executed? It is just a news paper that writes to a certain section of readers, saying they should be killed is just showing how sad some people are.

Those comments are pretty tame when you consider that the Daily Mail is written for middle class English housewives of a conservative persuasion.

Other than that I have no interest in the story. It was inevitable.

Well, if they want the right to get "married", they also have the right to get "divorced". I wonder if the Daily Mail will be so keen, in around 40 or 50 years time, to publish the story of "Our 40-year lesbian marriage: how we made it work"? Somehow, I suspect not.
