How long does it take to get results back on after having a tissue biopsy taken?

Honestly it depends on your services. It depends on what it is for, type of tissue etc. If you have a biopsy done they should tell you how long it should take to get the results.

Like Sharry21 says, depends on different factors.

For example - In our lab a colonic biopsy received on monday morning will be processed overnight, sectioned and stained on tuesday and the microscope slide will then go onto a pathologist on the same day. Depending on pathologist workload they may look at it and report the findings the same day - the report is then typed up by their secretary and final macro and microscopic findings issued as a formal report to the requesting clinicians. I'd say 6 days maybe for non-urgent cases...
