...when downloading stuff, how can you download a file bigger than the file is supposed to be...

    That happens with torrents sometimes... Dunno why, just leave it running for a while and see what happens.
    Someone else might have a better explanation though! :D

    Just kidding. Sometimes when you download a file, the 'header' doesnt have all of the information necessary such as file size, or the file size in the header can be corrupt. There are alot of other possible explanations as well.

    Sometimes your client receives bad data it will have to redownload it. So it's essentially added onto the end of the original sized file.

    Nash has it, sometimes I get a few meg over the file size because of bad data, nothing serious, thats all.

    or even where the same piece was requested from two different sources, and then after one computer returned the data, another one did as well, but late, means you still downloaded the same data but twice

    It was just one of those little things that was annoying me :)
