Two periods within a week of each other?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I'm wondering if this is abnormal or not.

I just finished my week long period on 6th May and seem to have started another on 11th. It's a bit lighter than my "regular" period but the blood itself seems darker and thicker. I've never had two periods start so close together.

I ask as my period is very regular -- every 25 days last between 5 and 7 days.

why would two periods within a week mean she was pregnant?

    Yes I mean May!

I'm on the implant and I haven't had sex between these dates so I don't think so but it's probably worth being checked out.

Its probably your implant then, in fact almost definitely.
The girl I knew who had it, bled constantly for 6 months before just getting it removed as she was fed up with it.

How long have you had it for?
Might be worth asking your doctor, but theyll probably just say that.

No but I was thinking of the implantation bleeding some women at 1-2 weeks pregnant. Just because of the description that the blood was different.

I've had it in for just over a year now.

My periods took a few months to settle down after I got it in but I've had no other problems with it since. It had crossed my mind that this could be the culprit tho.

Not meaning to sound alarming here, but anyone here thought that the bleeding might not be due to a period?

if the period was 1 week ago, she wouldnt have even ovulated therefore wouldnt have concieved to enable implantation bleeding (plus she hasnt had sex during this time)
Also implantation bleeding would be more like a light spotting - not dark blood.

what do you think it might be then? Internal haemmorage? Cancer?

    Its highly unlikely.

a nic or a cut, or just some internal wound

a nick or a cut in the vagina would not cause dark thick blood.

Yeah, but your blood might be thicker and darker than the OP.

Not everyones blood is the same colour or consistency.

ok well im just assuming she didnt put broken glass into her vagina, or just give herself an episiotomy or she would have mentioned it.
Most of the time if you have any damage in the vagina, its just grazing from rough sex or something its not really in a position to get badly cut accidently. Grazing usually would maybe give someone a bit of spotting.

It's definately not a cut or a nic. Although it's quite light as far as my periods go I think the kind of cut to give me this sort of bleeding would be very uncomfortable and I'm sure I'd realise I'd done it. It's also just not the right consistancy. It'd period blood.

I'll probably get checked out none the less but as Suzy has said it's probably just an irregular period due to this thing stuck in my arm.
